Rev. Jimmy Earl Johnson

REV. JIMMY E. JOHNSON, of York, Alabama was born to the Blessed union of the late Murray and Carrie James Johnson on May 12, 1944 in Whitfield; Sumter County, Alabama.  He peacefully transitioned to the Will of God August 25, 2025 at 6:00 a.m. in Meridian, Mississippi.  Service of Remembrance and Life Celebration is slated for Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, located 1225 Shorts 15, Ward Alabama.  Rev. Johnson will lie in repose two hours prior to funeral time.  His brother, Rev. Frank Cottrell, Jr. will be the officiant delivering the eulogy offering words of comfort and consolation;  Rev. Pettis Lockett is church pastor.  Interment follows in the adjacent St. John Cemetery.  Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Tuesday evening (Sept. 2nd) from 2-6:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel.
