Reverend Louie D. Pettis entered his eternal home on Thursday, May 1, 2025, with his family by his side. He was born February 9, 1938, to the late Jessie Alvin Pettis and Nora Elizabeth. He was one of eleven Pettis children and was born a twin to Dewey. He and the love of his life, Earline, built a life together and raised two sons.
His passion for Christ and people led him into a life of ministry. He was an evangelist for many years before taking on full-time pastoral roles with the Assemblies of God. He had a passion for seeing lives changed through ministry and preaching the Word of God. He pastored at Oakland Assembly of God, in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; Shady Grove Assembly of God, in Baker, Florida; and Jay Assembly of God in Jay, Florida. During his ministry, he had the honor of mentoring many young ministers who are now impacting their communities. His passion for the Lord and sharing the Word of God was evident in every aspect of his life.
He was not only a steadfast husband, devoted father, and caring preacher, he was also an accomplished upholsterer by trade. He and Dewey owned “L & D” Upholstery for many years, serving Holmes County, Florida, and surrounding areas.
