Windsor – The Reverend Terry “Brent” Walsworth, age 75, passed away on September 3, 2024. Brent was born on May 3, 1949, to Clayton and Lorayne (Bolger) Walsworth in Muskegon, Michigan. He is survived by his daughter, Bridget Walsworth; his sister and her husband Dr. Pamela and Dr. Harold McAllister; his very close friends Rodney and Wanda Maass; and several relatives in Michigan. He was preceded in death by his wife Gloria, his brother Brian and his parents.
Pastor Brent grew up and graduated from Muskegon High School. He completed his undergraduate work at Newberry College in Newberry, South Carolina in 1991 where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in religion and philosophy. Pastor Brent began his theological studies at Wartburg Theological Seminary, Dubuque, Iowa in 1991. His internship year was served at United Lutheran Church in Crystal Falls, Michigan. Brent graduated from Wartburg Theological Seminary in 1995 with a Master of Arts degree in Theological Education. In 2005 Pastor Brent completed his studies in the TEEM Ministry/Rural Ministry at Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkley, California. Pastor Brent was Ordained on May 29, 2005, at West Blue Mounds Lutheran Church where he accepted his first call as a half-time pastor where he served for two years. In November 2007 Pastor Brent was installed as the Pastor of United in Christ Lutheran Church in Morrisonville. He served this congregation until he retired in June 2020.
A funeral will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday October 4, 2024, at UNITED IN CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH, 4650 County Road DM, Morrisonville, WI 53571 with Bishop Joy Mortensen-Wiebe & Rev. Jason Pooler-Xiong officiating, and Rev Traci Maass preaching. A luncheon will follow the funeral at the church on Friday. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the funeral at the church on Friday.
A graveside service and interment of his cremains will be held at a later date in Michigan.
