Reva Lou Tipps Hudgins, 94, of Grand Saline passed away August 11, 2025, in Grand Saline, Texas. Reva was born on February 16, 1931, to Lee & Myrtle King Tipps and grew up in Friendship near Grand Saline, Texas. She graduated from Grand Saline High School in 1947 and immediately accepted a job at Southern Bell in the then far-away Dallas area where she resided with her sister and then her brother over the next couple of years as she worked. She met and then married Robert Vernon (R. V.) Hudgins, a Navy Veteran, on May 10, 1949, and began their life together in Dallas, Texas. Over many years they slowly migrated from Dallas landing back in Grand Saline in 1967 to stay.
She attended Rejoicers Sunday School class at Main Street Baptist Church in Grand Saline and is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 68 years, Robert “RV” Hudgins, five brothers; Clifton Tipps, Ferron Tipps, Alwyn Tipps, Adrian Tipps, and Harold Tipps; and two sisters, Deloyce Moore and Alva Tipps.
Survivors include her three daughters; Sherion Jackson and husband Andy of Longview, Linda Monk and husband Mike of Grand Saline, and Robbie Monk and husband Ronnie of Grand Saline; sister Annett Chowing of Garland; sister-in-law Nadine Phillips and husband Bobby; six grandchildren, Jonathan Jackson, Stacey Hastings and husband Tracy, Michelle Lewis and husband Monty, Dean Monk and wife Beri, Heather Grace and husband Jeremy, and Lindsey Phillips and husband Andrew, thirteen great grandchildren; Jacob, Alexia, Marti, Macoy, Mazie, Macray, Maylee, Levi, Jessi, Bo, Dylan, Kolbi, and Jaleigh, and a multitude of loved relatives and friends.
Reva Lou Tipps Hudgins ---wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, and aunt—will be dearly missed and forever loved by all she knew.
Pallbearers will be Lannie Dean Hudgins, Kurtis Riggle, Bobby Dean Phillips, Kerry Phillips, Rusty Phillips, Dean Phillips, Justin Phillips, and Marcus Phillips.
