Mr. Revel Donaldson Smith, age 81, of Hiawassee, Georgia went to his heavenly home on
September 27, 2023, following an extended illness. He was born to the late Gene and Avie
(Donaldson) Smith on April 15, 1942, in Chamblee, Georgia. Revel was a member of the Union
Hill Methodist Church where he played the organ for many years. He graduated from Southern
Wesleyan University in Central, South Carolina. He served as an elementary teacher and school
librarian until he retired.
Revel is preceded in death by his above-mentioned parents. He is survived by his brother and
sister-in-law, George and LeJeune Smith; two sisters and their husbands, Lera and Ivan Rexroth;
Gevie and J.C. White along with numerous nieces and nephews.
We were blessed to have Revel with us for 81 years. He was loved by all who knew him, and he
will be greatly missed!
