Rex Palmer Lindblom, 89, Park Rapids, MN, formerly of Aldrich, MN passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND surrounded by his family.
Rex was born June 28, 1935 in Aldrich, MN to A.P. and Carrie (Vanderhoef) Lindblom. He graduated from Verndale High School in 1953 then served in the Army from 1954 until 1960. He attended Moorhead State College, graduating in 1960 with a Business Administration and Accounting degree. On June 4, 1960 Rex was united in marriage to Ann Borgen in Perley, MN.
After college Rex worked for the railroad and started his long career with General Motors. He was co-owner of Borgen-Lindblom Chevrolet. After selling the garage he had a successful career as a car salesman. He was proud of his accomplishment of selling 4028 vehicles.
Rex was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. With a heart full of kindness, he spread joy and friendship wherever he went. He was a true role model to his kids and grandkids who often sought out his wisdom and advice.
Rex is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ann Lindblom; 4 children, Barb Leatch of Arlington, TX, Bobbi (Pete) Girtz of Blackhawk SD, Nancy Lindblom of Fargo, ND, Tim (Lori) Lindblom of Park Rapids; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and sister, Bev Piepkorn of Roseville, MN.
He is preceded in death by his parents, A.P. and Carrie Lindblom; sister, Wanda; son-in-law, R.L.; and numerous brother and sister-in-laws.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Riverside United Methodist Church in Park Rapids. A visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 PM on Monday, May 26, 2025 at Riverside Methodist Church in Park Rapids and also for 1 hour prior to the service.
