Rex Bradley “Brad” Reed, 52, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, passed away on March 2, 2026, in Jonesboro, surrounded by his loving family. Brad was born on January 24, 1974, the youngest son of Luevene Irene Meredith Hill and Roosevelt Reed Sr., both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Janet Lynn Washington, uncle Robert Lewis, and aunt Frankie Young.
Brad received a certificate in Data Entry from Delta Vo-Tech and generously volunteered his time at the Craighead County Library. During his high school years, he was a talented drummer in the J.H.S. band and continued sharing his musical gift while playing drums at First Baptist Church. He was also a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church Male Chorus. Music was one of his many passions, and it remained a meaningful and joyful part of his life.
Brad deeply loved his family and treasured the time they spent together. He enjoyed watching football and was a devoted fan of the Denver Broncos, as well as cheering on the Philadelphia 76ers during basketball season. Known for his giving heart, Brad was everybody’s personal taxi—and he truly enjoyed helping others. However, if he had errands to run, you could count on riding along until he finished what he needed to do first. That was simply Brad—helpful, dependable, and always on the move.
He leaves to cherish his memory six sisters: Hortense Robinson of Jonesboro; Myrna Carruth (James Carruth) of St. Louis, Missouri, Robin Wolfe (Tony Wolfe); Sheila Hill; Andrea Massie all of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and Felecia Hamilton (Daren Hamiliton) of Little Rock, Arkansas.
He also leaves behind six brothers: Victor Hill and Justin Reed of Jonesboro, Arkansas; Roosevelt Reed Jr. of Grand Rapids, Michigan; James Reed of Kansas City, Kansas; and Rufus Reed of Ohio; aunts, Daisy Freeman (Dan) of Jonesboro; Christine Bradley (Jeffery) of Osceola; uncles, John Lewis of Little Rock; Albert Lewis (Rebecca) of Lakeland Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 Friday, March 6, 2026, at the First Baptist Church on Kitchen Street with Paston Curtis Wilson officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery with C. C. Smith Jr., Terry Aikens, Kevin Kimble Jr., Justin Reed, Chris Prunty, and Ronnie Davis serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Vincent Jones Jr., Alfred Walker, Carl Washington Jr., Keith Hill, James Carruth, Carryl Sanders, Tony Wolfe, Korey Hill, Korey Prunty and Albert Lewis. Visitation will be from 1:00 until service time. To sign an online guestbook, go to emersonfuneralhome.com.
