Rex Thomas "Tommy" Sharpe III was born in Somerset on September 11, 1957 to the late Rex Sharpe Jr and Betty Ford Sharpe. He passed away on July 16, 2025. He is survived by his son, Thomas Cole Sharpe of Lexington; sister, Debbe Sharpe Dedman (Tom) and; sister and best friend, Becke Sharpe McGaughey (Steve). He is also survived by three nephews, Jake Heustis (Ali), Nolan McGaughey (Lauren), Brad McGaughey (Kristin); and one niece, Stephanie McGaughey-Bowker (Andrew); great nephews, Wilder Heustis, Boone, Ziggy McGaughey, and Townes Bowker. He leaves behind his furry friend Nina. He was a proud graduate of SHS where he played many sports, excelling at all. After graduating, he loved coaching little league Football with his friends. Tommy was an avid UK Fan, co-founding The Never Give Up Club, a tail-gating group for football. Never giving up is the way he led his life. Tommy worked with his dad for many years selling coal insurance in Eastern Kentucky and after moving to Lexington managed many restaurants, including the iconic A La Lucie. Several years ago he moved to Frankfort to be near family and, after retirement, became a savvy Door Dash Guy. His happy place was being anywhere with his son or cruising a lake with his boat, Blue Betty. Services will be held at a later
