Rex Dean Thode

REX DEAN THODE, age 71, of Shelbyville, Tenn., departed this life on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro, Tenn., following a brief illness. Mr. Thode was born in Tuscola, Ill., on January 4, 1953, to the late Richard Dean Thode and Laura Mae Nixon Thode. He was a commercial and residential Electrician and retired from Stewart's Inc. in Shelbyville where he was employed for many years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and listening to live music. He loved to play the guitar and played in a band named the "Sleep Walkers" that traveled around in Central Illinois playing their music. Mr. Thode was referred to as a "lone wolf" in that he liked spending time alone. He will be remembered as a loving and caring father that will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Thode was preceded in death by a daughter, Stacie Thode. He is survived by his Son, Aric Thode and wife, Kimberly of Tullahoma, Tenn., Siblings; Joyce Scott and husband, Gary, Brenda Barnard and husband, Eric, Sandra Horn and husband, Dan, Gary Thode and wife, Neva.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
