Rex Twining Obituary
Rex P. Twining, beloved husband, stepfather, step-grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024, at the age of 60. Born on August 5, 1963, in Phillipsburg, NJ, Rex was the son of Marylee and the late John P. Twining, Sr. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.
Rex was a man of many passions, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. He adored spending time with his family, especially his dogs, creating lasting bonds through shared laughter and cherished moments. Whether it was fishing on tranquil waters or navigating the waves on a boat, Rex found solace in the beauty of nature.
His generous heart knew no bounds, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. With an easy-going nature and a kind spirit, Rex touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His presence brought warmth and comfort to those around him, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.
In his professional life, Rex was deeply dedicated to his work. He ran his family blasting business alongside his father and brother before joining Northwest Explosives in Hopatcong, NJ, where he served as an explosives engineer. His commitment and work ethic were exemplary, earning him the respect and admiration of his colleagues.
Rex is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Twining, who will forever hold him in her heart, and their three dogs: Rayne, Betty, and Buttercup. He was a cherished stepfather to Zachary Gonda and wife Jennifer, Benjamin Gonda and wife Megan, and was a beloved step-grandfather to Aurelia and Thomas. Additionally, he leaves behind his mother, Marylee Twining, along with his twin brother, John P. Twining, Jr., and his partner, Mary, as well as his niece, Mandy Aguilar, and her daughter, Kailee. He is preceded in death by his dearest dog, Button, and his father, John Twining, Sr.
The viewing will be held on Friday, July 12 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Wharton. A religious service will be held at Abiding Peace Lutheran Church on Saturday, July 13, at 10:30 AM for those who would like to entrust Rex to the tender and merciful embrace of God. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Pax Amicus Castle Theatre by contacting Stan at (973) 691-2100.
In honoring Rex's memory, let us cherish the moments shared, the love given, and the impact he made on our lives. Though he may be gone, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
