Reymundo Manuel Hernandez

Reymundo Manuel Hernandez, 60, of Port Lavaca, Texas passed away on October 17, 2025, in his hometown. He was born on November 4, 1964 to Basilio Reymundo Hernandez and Alberta Carriles.
Reymundo found joy and purpose in the simple things - the thrill of hunting, and the open water where he spent countless hours working aboard shrimp boats. The sea and land were both home to him. He was a caring father, son, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be greatly missed.
Reymundo is survived by both parents, Basilio Hernandez (Helen) of Port Lavaca and Alberta Carriles of Port Lavaca; his daughters, Raquel Hernandez (Adrian) of Indiana and Michelle Hernandez (Devon) of Port Lavaca; his son, Eric Escobar (Erlinda) of Iowa Colony; his sister, Yolanda Hernandez of Port Lavaca; and his brothers, Victor Hernandez (Cindy) of Corpus Christi and Vicente Hernandez of Port Lavaca.
He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Gavin Escobar, Kierstin Escobar, Landin Escobar, and Josiah Davila, and great-grandchildren, Jameson Escobar and Hendrix Escobar.
Reymundo is preceded in death by his daughter Valarie Marie Hernandez.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Port O' Connor, with a rosary at 8:30 a.m. and a funeral mass at 9:00 a.m.
Pallbearers will be Eric Escobar, Gavin Escobar, Thalyn Del Bosque, Joe Ybarra Jr., Abelardo (Lalo) Ortiz, and Paul Carriles. Honorary pallbearers are Vicente Hernandez, Vicente Hernandez Jr., Victor Hernandez, Eric Ybarra, and Alejo Ortiz.
