Reynaldo Cansino Jr., 54, formerly of
Corpus Christi, TX, sadly passed away Sunday, August 10, 2025, after a long battle with illness in Aurora, CO. His fight was valiant, and he will always be remembered for his bravery, endurance, courage, sacrifice, and deep everlasting love for his children and grandchildren and also for his family, friends, but most especially for our Lord Jesus Christ. He is preceded in death by his father, Reynaldo H. Cansino Sr. "Rey" Cansino Jr. is survived by the love of his life, Judy, and his four precious and wonderfully made children he so dearly wanted and made his own: Reynaldo III (Faith), Justice (Bobbi), Hannah (Dylan), Javan (Glirsa) Cansino, & Athena - a bonus stepdaughter. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren whom he loved, admired, and cherished so dearly - Avery, Kairi, Korra, Reynaldo IV, Justice Jr., William, & Sora Cansino. He also leaves behind his mother, Gloria, 2 brothers, 3 sisters, in laws, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins he also loved so dearly. Rey proudly served our nation with honor and distinction as an enlisted serviceman, a multi-service veteran in the US Navy Reserves (1990-1996), US Army Active Duty (1996-2003), and US Coast Guard Reserves (2004-2010), where he received many medals and awards for his devotion to duty as an "Operations Specialist" having served in the Gulf War (Navy), and as a "Light Wheel Vehicle Mechanic" having served in Operation Enduring Freedom (Army), & as an "Administration Specialist" (Coast Guard). Rey sacrificed his time away from family to protect the freedoms we cherish as Americans. Rey was a 1989 graduate of Foy H. Moody High School in
Corpus Christi, TX. He continued his formal education at Del Mar College in Corpus, where he graduated in August 2007 with an AAS degree in Respiratory Therapy. Rey then furthered his education at Brighton College, where he graduated in December 2019 and received an AAS degree in Nursing. He went on to work as a traveling Respiratory Therapist fulfilling a lifelong interest of travels until he took a position at Vibra Hospital of Denver. Rey enjoyed music and movies, with his favorite band being U2 and movies with Top Gun Maverick being one of his all-time favorites. He also danced with two left feet and sang his heart out with a tune only loved ones could cherish. "Good grief!" Was a quote he often used from his favorite Peanuts character "Charlie Brown." His smile and spirit were captivating. Rey was a spiritual man, spreading the love and word of Jesus Christ with many and until his last breath. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him, but most especially by the mother of his children, his children, and his adorable grandchildren. May Rey rest in eternal peace, without pain & suffering, where he is now in the arms of Jesus, singing with the angels, and living in his mansion the Lord prepared for him. Amen.
