REYNOLD RICKFORD
Reynold Rickford, 91, of Jessie ND, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025 at the Aneta Parkview Health Center.
Reynold Kenneth was born in their home near Walum ND on June 22, 1934. He attended school through the 3rd grade when he started working on the family farm which he did his entire life, worked on the farm. Reynold also worked for other farmers over the years along with working various other places like Edlund Motors, Reitens, and Binford Locker.
Reynold never ventured far from home and was content being close to home. At one time he and his brother, Francis, went to work in Minneapolis. Reynold didn’t finish the first week before returning home.
Reynold married Patricia Rahlf on December 21, 1954, in Carrington ND. Together they lived on various homesteads in the Binford, ND area before settling in Jessie ND for the duration of life. After Reynold retired and parked the tractor, he continued to take lunch to field for the boys and assist with moving machinery from field to field. When farming allowed, the boys along with some grandchildren, neighbors, or friends, would come to Jessie each day for dinner (the noon meal) prepared by Reynold. He made a great pot of chili.
Reynold didn’t have time for too much outside of farming and watching the kids. You could often hear Patty say “Reynold, get up here, we need another player”. He played several games of cards over the years.
Together they raised two daughters, Sheila (Larry) Bakken, and Alice (Keith) Carr along with four sons, Douglas (Carol), Dale (Deb), Kenneth (Christy), and Keith (Joyce). From their kids they were blessed with 30 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. Reynold enjoyed watching the kids and participating in a little shenanigans every now and again.
Reynold is survived by his family including sister-in-laws, Kay Bear and Alice DeHoff; brother-in-laws, William (Nikki) Rahlf, James Rahlf, Ronald (Karen) Rahlf, and Daniel Rahlf along with tons of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patty; infant son, Jacob; granddaughter, Rachel Tande; his parents, Albert & Rosella; mother and father-in-law, William & Alice Rahlf; sisters, Dorothy (Marvin) Borchert and Arlene (Dennis) Bradshaw; brothers. Francis (Delores) Rickford; Arnold (Charlotte) Rickford; sisters-in-laws, Dorothy (Bob) Everson; Marilyn (Harold) Roth; Judy Rahlf; brother-in-laws, Bob Bear; Jerald, David, and Timothy.
Funeral services will be Monday, October 13, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the Zion Lutheran Church rural Binford. ND. Visitation will be one before services.
