Rhonda Awtry

Rhonda Grizzle Awtry, age 66, and a resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rick Points officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Maury Memorial Gardens. A visitation will also be held on Thursday from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Rhonda was born on May 18, 1959, and was the daughter of  the late Harrison “Harry” Grizzle and Helen Grizzle. She found joy in working jigsaw puzzles, playing bingo, cooking, decorating cakes, fishing, and camping. She especially loved spending time at the beach searching for seashells. A devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, she also enjoyed playing card games and treasured the companionship of her beloved dog, K-Lee. Rhonda will be remembered for her caring heart, loving nature, and selfless spirit. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Rhonda is survived by sons, Loyd “Trey” Awtry, Shaun Awtry, and Ryan (Mahiya) Awtry; brother, Roger Grizzle; grandchildren, Lillian Unusee-Awtry and Triston Unusee-Awtry.

Along with her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Randy Grizzle; sister, Regina Grizzle; and children, Misty and Marcus Awtry.
