Rhonda Thornley Gephart, 83, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born in Logan, Utah, to N. Donn and Thelma Thornley, she was the first of four children. She developed a strong work ethic growing up on her family’s farm, alongside her younger brothers, Dennis Thornley, Paul (Bonnie Jean) Thornley, and Lyle (Kathy) Thornley.
Rhonda loved learning, gardening, music, and community. She earned a Bachelor’s degree from Utah State University and a Master’s degree from the University of Phoenix, both in Arts in Education. Teaching and education were lifelong passions that shaped her career and the many lives she touched.
Rhonda was a devoted wife to her husband of 63 years, Harry, and a loving mother to her four children: Lisa (Jeff) Firth, Robyn (Bart) Watts, Marc, and Erin (Jon) Siffing, nine grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. Her family was her greatest joy, and she found happiness in gathering them close and celebrating life’s simple moments.
An avid tennis player, Rhonda brought her passion for racquet sports into her career, also coaching the Bear River High School girls’ tennis team for many years. She had a deep interest in current events and a special gift for music. She loved to sing and was a longtime member of The Reflections choral group, where she built lasting friendships through harmony and song. She also loved her community, being active on the Tremonton City Planning & Zoning boards and driving numerous city beautification efforts.
She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she shared her testimony through service, music, and kindness. Her warmth, curiosity, and devotion will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to thank Sunrise Senior Living and Inspiration Hospice for their loving care in her final hours.
