A Celebration of Life Service to honor the life and legacy of Rhonda Kay Kunz, age 67, of Sprit Lake, IA during the summers and Florida during the winter, will be held Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 1:00-3:00pm at Mini-Wakan State Park Shelter House 24490 100th St., Spirit Lake, IA 51360.
Rhonda Kay Kunz was born on December 8th, 1957, in Estherville, IA to Ronald and Arlis Heinrichs. Rhonda graduated from Estherville High School. She worked as a manager of Pizza Hut for several years. Rhonda then opened her own business, Beach Bulb Tan Club in Jackson, MN,
Rhonda’s greatest passion was taking adventures with her husband, Al. She met Al, the love of her life in spring of 2011 and married him September 24, 2011. Al and Rhonda treasured spending time with grandkids. Rhonda was proud and showered the grandkids with love. She was a hard-working and giving person who never complained. Rhonda kept to herself and never gave up; even in last days, she fought hard.
Rhonda passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving husband, Al and other family members.
Rhonda is preceded in death by her father Ronald Heinrichs, her brother Randy Heinrichs, her brother Rocklyn Heinrichs, both her grandparents, and uncle Larry Kunz who adored her.
Those left to remember Rhonda are her loving husband, Al Kunz; Al’s kids Joseph, Jessica, Angela, and Jenna; Al's grandchildren. Her mother, Arlis Heinrichs, sisters Rebecca (Mike) Christophel,Rita (Loren) Lauver, Roberta Heinrichs and Robyn Heinrichs, Randy’s wife Lisa Heinrichs, and brothers Russ (Karla) Heinrichs, Rick Heinrichs, Reginald (Lea) Heinrichs, Roger Heinrichs, Ronnie (Tammy) Heinrichs, Ryan (Jenny) Heinrichs, and Robert Heinrichs. Over 39 nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Rhonda’s memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
