Ricardo "Rick" John Jules, age 63, of Milwaukee, WI, passed away peacefully at his home, gaining his wings on March 28, 2025.
He was born on March 27, 1962 in Castries, St. Lucia to Joseph Jules and Ramona Helena Jules, both preceding him in death. He was the beloved brother to both of his sisters, Avril (Cassius) Jules-Bradley of Universal City, TX, Lorraine (Monte) McDowell of Lilburn, GA, and stepbrother, Brent Jules of Dallas, TX.
Rick, known to many as DJ Rick Jules, was a beloved figure in the music community, bringing the joy of music to everyone he encountered. He was more than just a DJ-he was a musical artist with a unique style that blended multiple genres and incorporated his own live instrumentation. Self-taught on the bass guitar, piano, and drums, he played in multiple bands, including one with his uncle, and infused his performances with creativity and passion. Whether spinning records at nightclubs, curating soundtracks for major events, or providing music for professional sports teams like the Milwaukee Brewers and Milwaukee Bucks, Rick's presence was felt far and wide. He was the go-to DJ for weddings, fundraisers, bike clubs, sporting events, and private celebrations, always delivering an unforgettable experience.
His love for music extended to live streaming, where he connected with audiences beyond the stage. Known for his humor and infectious energy, Rick made every event special-not just through his music, but through his personality. His legacy as a brother, DJ, musician, and friend will continue to resonate with those of us who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Funeral services will be held on April 3, 2025 at Krause Funeral Home, 9000 Capitol Drive, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM -2:00 PM with a funeral service at 2:00 PM. The service will be streamed online through Krause's website. A separate memorial to celebrate his life will be planned for this summer.

To The Jules Family I just want to say that My thoughts and prayers are with each and everyone of you. I remember when I first Rick when we worked together at a place called SealCraft Packaging as Warehouse Packers. He trained me on my first day working there and shortly after that we became really good friends. I remember when I had him dj at my wedding back in the day and he did an outstanding job too. The dance floor was packed with the reggae and r&b he played. It was a good time. I'll miss the talks and jokes we had shared together. DJ Rick thanks for not only being my friend, thanks for being like my brother. You will be missed by me and many. R.I.H My Brotha and My Friend! Yo Buddy! Larry Ervin

A true freind that seamed to always have a smile on his face. I can still see his head bopping as he is grooving to the remix. Hope heaven is ready to party with one of the most awesome dj's now taking the stage.

Rick Jules was one of the most underrated DJs in the city of Milwaukee. His unique touch to every track, his smile and amazing energy surged through each venue he played. If Rick was there, we knew we were going to hear a personal sound track of music he prepared and gave hours of practice too. Anything he touched, he touched with pride and I'm honored to know him . My condolences to the family as he spoke of his family calls and St. Lucia love always. And to my friend DJ Rick Jules( as I had to say his full DJ name everytime I saw him) thank you for playing with me and being our special guest DJ at the station . Thank you for never saying no to any project we had going for the Caribbean Community. I have to say I apologize. Lastly, Thank you for everything you gave , done and I personally have to say Thank you for working with me. It was my honor. Ladies and Gentlemen, DJ Rick Jules

I worked with Rick many years ago at the Scratch Pad. We always had a great time, working together. Rick would always show new DJs starting out about music and mixing. Rick was loved by many and will truly be missed. I was very saddened to hear of his passing.
