Richard Boudreau and Christine Boudreau, both 78, passed away on February 17, 2023. They shared an extraordinary life together, deeply in love and with mutual respect.
Richard, originally from Gardner, MA, was the son of the late Aquila and Beatrice (Chartier) Boudreau. He served as a Marine in Vietnam, then earned his doctorate in education. He taught at New Bedford High School and worked his way to president at Fisher College in MA. He later owned and operated Green Acres Turkey Farm in Wrentham, MA. In his retirement, he engaged in several hobbies including wood carving, painting, bird watching, playing the clarinet, and daily swimming.
Christine, originally from Walton-le-Dale, Preston, Lancashire, United Kingdom, was the daughter of Thomas Norman and Doris (Ley) Foster. She earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy and was employed by Ocean Spray in Boston, MA. She was ever dignified, in a lovely way. She enjoyed reading, researching travel destinations, strong brewed coffee, fine foods and a glass of Malbec.
Both Richard and Christine were a true pleasure to be around, giving extra big hugs, and keenly interested in others, always eager to help. They spent several years living in Thailand and extended periods traveling countless countries with a shared interest in culture, history, cuisine, and warm weather. They resided in Sarasota, FL, attending many cultural events, travel clubs, book clubs, wine tastings and yoga classes.
They will be deeply missed.
Richard is survived by his son Sean Boudreau and his wife Susan and three grandchildren Ethan, Ava, and Jacob, along with his sister Claudette Bourque, nephews Ernest and Marcel, niece Monique, and numerous cousins. He was predeceased by his sister Doris Devereau.
Christine is survived by her sisters Sheila Sim and Joyce Tulett, her nephew Malcolm and her nieces Caroline, Jennifer, Jackie, Judith and Alison. She was predeceased by her brother Colin. Colin's children are Craig, Graham, Paul and Jill.
