Richard Abrams Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Malcom's Brower-Wann Funeral Home - Lewiston on Mar. 5, 2026.
Richard F. Abrams, 78, of Lewiston and formerly of Kendrick, passed away Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026, in Clarkston. He passed due to several chronic conditions (please remember to take care of yourself and your health, it can make a difference).

Richard was born May 29, 1947, in Kendrick to Frank Abrams and Leasel Havens Abrams. He along with his parents ran Abrams Hardware Store in Kendrick. He graduated from Kendrick High School.

Richard met Norma Emmett and the two were married Sept. 23, 1967 in Moscow. They made their home for a time in Kendrick.

He worked as an EMT and was also a member of the Lions Club. Being a part of the community meant a lot to Richard, and he worked extremely hard on several projects including to help save the Kendrick city pool, so that the families there could have a place to swim and stay cool in the warm summer months.

Later on, he found work with the city of Lewiston as an electrician and plumber, and was recognized for 25 years of service to the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley community.

Richard is survived by his wife Norma, daughter Angie (Bill) Chase; granddaughter Adrianna (and Trevor). He was a proud grandpa to Jennifer, Damon, Breanna, James and Melissa, and was very excited to soon be a great-grandpa to Lyla Blake Russell in June of 2026. Richard is also survived by his sister-in-law Alice Earman and niece Wendy.

He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Leasel; his mother-in-law Maycelle Emmett; brother Denny Abrams; niece Julie Shaw, nephew Doug Abrams and grandson Blake Braun.

A memorial service for Richard will be held from 11 a.m. to noon, Saturday, March 7, at Malcom's Brower-Wann Funeral Home, 1711 18th St., Lewiston. A celebration will follow the service from 12:30-2:30 p.m. at Lewiston Community Center, 1424 Main St., Lewiston.

Memorial donations may be made to the Juliaetta-Kendrick Heritage Foundation.
