Richard Robert Adams, 73, passed away peacefully on November 13th, 2024, completing the most epic love story of all time. Rich was born in March of 1951 to Robert S, Adams Sr. and Violet M. Adams in Burlington, Wisconsin. Rich grew up in Eagle Lake Manor in the Town of Dover, until the family moved to the Town of Raymond. Rich finished high school at Union Grove High School in 1969. Following high school, Rich served in the Army Reserves. Once back in the Union Grove area, Rich went to work for his father, “Friendly Bob Adams at his Rambler/American Motors” dealership in the shop. Following AMC dealership closure, Rich continued to work for Bob Sr. on his prized classic and collector car inventory until Bob Sr’s. death in 1992. Rich continued the family business buying, selling, and repairing collector cars as Rich’s Garage LLC. in Union Grove and later in Raymond.

On November 10, 1973, Rich married the love of his life, Jill L. Homburg, and resided in the Union Grove area. Rich and Jill welcomed their son, Richard M., in August of 1975. Soon after, they purchased their first house in Paris, a fixer-upper to say the least.

Rich was known to be the prankster and jokester throughout his life, which seems to date back as far grade school where his teacher noted, “he is becoming a bit of a mag-pie, talking a lot”. Pranks knew no bounds, whether in the shop with the guys, or at a swap meet in Hershey Pennsylvania where an innocent Fisk Tire Boy statue was defiled with a radiator hose and duct tape.

Rich also shared a passion of Coca-Cola collecting with his wife, Jill. Rich, Jill, and Richie traveled throughout the US to various collector conventions and meetings. While Rich enjoyed looking for new pieces for the collection, he really enjoyed the people and the friendships.

This obituary may read nearly as duplicate to Jill’s three weeks ago, and that’s not by mistake. Rich lived for Jill. In the past year he celebrated 50 years of marriage to Jill with a once in a lifetime land and cruise vacation in Hawaii with family and friends, his annual trip to the Iola swap meet with his longtime friend, he surprised Jill with a trip to the Escanaba Casino to see the Legends music concert, a National Coca-Cola Collectors Convention in Iowa where he would always state “I’m going to man the sales floor”, but it was really to catch up with friends from all over the country, as well as a state Coca-Cola convention in Minnesota. The night before his unexpected passing, Rich was able to unwind with a couple buddies cruising the Juneau County countryside, sharing some big laughs, having some pizza and of course a couple cold Busch Lights.

Rich chased Jill into eternal life leaving behind thousands of friends, his son Rich, his daughter-in-law Alexis, his “Buddy” grand-dog Willow, his brother Robert (Karen) Adams, his sisters Marge (Don) Bauman and Barbara (Randy) Tisai, a brother-in-law Mike (Diana) Homburg, nieces and nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews.

The stories of Christmas with Rich and Jill have inspired us to host a Christmas Celebration of Life. This celebration will be held on December 18th, at 4PM, at County Line Hall located at 103 200th Avenue in Union Grove, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, the family will be organizing and collecting toys for the Racine/Kenosha County Toys for Tots program in honor of Rich.
