Since I learned of Richard´s passing, I have struggled to find the words that adequately express my deep respect and admiration for my friend. Richard enjoyed life and that spirit spread to all around him. Everyone who knew him enjoyed his company. Professionally, he was an exceptional leader and businessperson. He was an exemplary family man who deeply loved everyone in his family.
Over the years, we shared many adventures and a few misadventures, but we always enjoyed the experience. His quick wit was the source of numerous laughs and entertainment. He had an astounding knowledge of sports, especially baseball. His knowledge was tested in an encounter we had with the famous Billy Martin. He leaves me with some of the best memories of my life.
Thank you, my friend, for a lifetime of friendship. You made my life better. My sincere condolences to Sharon, Jennifer, Jeffrey, and the entire Altieri family.

I have many fond memories of Richie in Dumont and at MSU. He was a sports enthusiast and an exceptional basketball player. He always took time to coach, teach, and talk about the game, especially to younger, upcoming players. RIP. He will be missed.

My sincere condolences to Sharon, Jennifer, Jeffrey and family. I had the honor and privilege to work with Rich as his administrative assistant at American Express. He was a great boss and admired not only by me but everyone that worked with him. Rich always would share with me how he truly enjoyed his job because of the great people he surrounded himself with. I have wonderful memories of our time working together. I got to know Sharon, his kids, family and friends and certainly found them to kind, genuine and so good to me. RIP Rich

I had the honor to report to Rich for a year while working at American Express. Through Rich´s guidance I was able successfully able to certify a project that helped me complete my Six Sigma certification. At times I want to quit and he kept me focused and believed in me. He kept pushing me and reminding me that in order to succeed you have to work through the difficult issues. Some great advice. RIP Rich.
