Richard ''Ricky'' Argenziano, 62, passed away on March 6, 2025, in Toms River, New
Jersey. Born on January 24, 1963, in Staten Island, New York, Ricky lived a life full of
dedication, laughter, and deep connections with those around him.
Ricky graduated from Richmond County Prep in Staten Island in 1982 before attending
the NYPD Police Academy in 1985. His career was marked by service and
commitment he became an NYPD detective in 2002 and worked tirelessly at Ground
Zero after the events of September 11. Prior to his law enforcement career, Ricky also
owned a luncheonette that bore his name, a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit and
love for bringing people together.
Beyond his professional life, Ricky had a passion for weightlifting and motorcycle riding. He was an avid collector of baseball cards and sports memorabilia and found joy in playing and watching football. Music was another love of his he enjoyed listening to live performances whenever he could.
Ricky had an incredible ability to bring laughter into any room. He was the kind of person you could always count on if you needed him, he would be there in a minute. Over the years, he built lasting friendships across every stage of his life: childhood friends, highschool friends, fellow motorcycle friends, what his wife called the Richmond Town boys, Colleagues from the police force and detective bureau, club friends, and neighborhoodfriends. His presence left an indelible mark on so many lives.
He shared more than half his life with his beloved wife and soulmate, Debra Argenziano. Their bond was one of deep love and unwavering support. Ricky adored his son, Richard N. Argenziano; his daughter-in-law, Bridgett Argenziano; and cherished his grandchildren, Noah and Natalie.
He was predeceased by his parents, Rose and Richard; as well as his older siblings Peter, Angela, and Joanne.
Ricky s legacy is one of love, loyalty, and laughter. Though he may not have realized just how loved he was during his lifetime, those who knew him will forever carry his memory in their hearts. May his spirit continue to bring warmth to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:45 AM on Saturday at Holy Child Church located at 4747 Amboy Road Staten Island, New York 10312. Arrangements inlcude private cremation.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, March 21, 2025, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.

I was good friends with Rick back in high school days at Richmondtown Prep. We went to a few concerts and hung out in SI. I hadn't seen him in many years but my dad ran into him years ago when he worked in New Dorp HS. Rest In Peace buddy and sympathy to your family.
