He passed away peacefully on February 11, 2025. He was born in Rochester, NY on June 4, 1930, to Elmer and May Aulenbacher. Predeceased by his loving wife, Virginia. He is predeceased by his siblings, Jack (Viola) Aulenbacher, Ruth (Carl) Bettner; and special friend, Michelle Kellogg. He is survived by his children, Barbara (Peter) Hasler, Ann (Joan Bardossi) Aulenbacher, Margaret (Thomas) Corbit, Susan (Richard Corwin) Aulenbacher. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ginny (Marco) Iulianella, Emily (Ryan Bourcy) Hasler, Annie Hasler, Jenn Corbit, Suzi Corbit, Sarah Corbit; great-grandchildren, Grace and Max; nieces; nephews; and wonderful friends.
Richard was raised in Irondequoit, NY, where he excelled in football at Aquinas High School and Colgate University. His passion for the 1000 Islands, fishing, boating, a good joke, and cherished moments with the family and friends defined his life. He dedicated more than 35 years to Allstate Insurance. He treasured his time with the Allstate Golf League; and he especially loved playing euchre and time spent at the casino.
Friends may call to the funeral chapel (2305 Monroe Avenue) on Monday, February 17 from 4-7 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, February 18 at 11 am at St. Catherine of Siena Church (26 Mendon-Ionia Road. Interment immediately following at Mendon Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Aquinas Institute or to St. Catherine of Siena Church.
