"Ric" as he was known, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023 following a courageous battle with Kidney Disease for many years at the age of 50. Born on October 4, 1973 in Elmira, Ric was the son of Charles Aumick and the late, Joan M. Lockner Aumick. He graduated from Southside High School Class of 1991. Ric was employed for many years by N.Y.S. Dept. of Corrections. A big part of his life was being an active member of the Pine City Fire Dept. First starting as a firefighter, then becoming 2nd Assistant Fire Chief twice, served on the Board of Directors, and most recently served as Captain of the Fire Police Squad. His many interests included sports, rooting for the Detroit Red Wings, N.Y. Mets and N.Y. Rangers. An avid outdoorsman, Ric enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and above all cherished times with his children and family.

Surviving is his loving family, children, Alex and Lacey Aumick; along with their mother, Mary McGrain; father, Charles E. "Chuck" (Cindy Phillips) Aumick; brothers, Greg (Heather) Aumick, and Mark (Heather) Aumick; aunts, Mary "Pidgie" (Jim) Durand, Joan (Tim) Kastner, Becky (Tom Bement) Rodabaugh, and Heather (Clifford) Rodabaugh; nieces nephews and many family friends. In addition to his mother Joan, he was predeceased by his aunt, Terry Aumick Long. Family and friends will be received at the Pine City Fire Dept. on Sat Dec. 2, 2023 between the hours of 12 (noon) – 3 p.m. A fireman's service will follow at 3 p.m. Interment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery at the family's convenience.
