Rich is certainly a person who changed my life forever and I am eternally grateful for him taking me under his wing almost 20 years ago. Very sad to hear of his passing. Always a great person, a proud dad and a rabid Hurricane fans. May he Rest In Peace.

Rich Baek taught the first two semesters of mainframe at NC Cental in 2006, on IBM time, so you cam say he started the mainframe programs at HBCUs. Then he spent uncounted hours on A&T's campus, on Truist's dime helping me install and co figure VM on the z9 IBM loaned us. May he rest in eternal peace.

Richard was a neighbor, he bought a house that we had looked at, way back in 1988. We compared grandson stories, this summer, and I often saw him pushing the toddler in a stroller up the street. I am stunned at finding this out. Thinking of his sons, at this difficult time.

So sad to hear of Rich passing away so suddenly! He has been a friend of ours for over 20 years. He was a good and Godly man who gave of himself and helped many children who needed love, guidance and protection. May he rest in peace and his soul reside with our Lord in heaven forever.

We are truly for Rich's premature passing, and pray for he and his family in their loss. We were in a small faith sharing group with Rich for several years, and saw his selfless, Christian faith in action at our parish, St Andrew the Apostle, for over 20 years. May Rich and his family know the Peace and Hope of the Lord's promise of life with Him for eternity - Peace!

We are so sorry to learn of the passing of Richard and at such a young age. Richard was a fellow member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Apex. I met him as an usher as I was, although he was also active in other services of our church. When I needed someone to fill in for me as usher when I was not available, Richard always willingly did that for me. I came to know his sons and then his grandchildren in later years. He was so proud of all of them. When Richard become very ill with the COVID virus and in the hospital, I contacted his sister to see what we could do to help. Our prayers were the best thing. He pulled through and made it home. We recently saw him at Mass, never thinking it was the last time. Our sympathy to all his family. Rest in Peace dear friend. Sincerely, Ruth & Roland Tripp
