Richard B Baek, 96, of Archdale, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at his home.
Born December 6, 1929, in Cuxhaben, Germany; he was a son of the late Otto Baek and the late Auguste Flessel. He was the owner and operator of Baek’s aka Richie’s Grocery and Delicatessen.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Schwarzbauer Baek, son, Richard George Baek; son in law Steven Adam Zidek; two brothers, and 3 sisters.
He is survived by his daughters, Barbara Zidek and Christine Donohue (Larry); grandsons, Zachary Zidek (Sarah), and Andrew Zidek (Gloria); Matthew Donohue, Aaron Baek (Taryn), Paul Baek (Tiffani), and Tyler Baek; granddaughters, Sophie Hicks (Conley), Megan Donohue, and Susan Donohue; great grandchildren, Toby Zidek, Brielle Zidek, Lyra Hicks, Jhecca Baek, Jacobe Baek, Mary Baek, Maya Baek and Damian Baek; and his special companion, Martha Stirewalt and her family.
Due to inclement weather, the memorial service has been postponed until spring and will announced by Wright Funerals-Cremations, High Point chapel.
The family will receive friends following the service.
