Mabel Marie Cope Wilder, 93, formerly of Trinity, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, March 19th, 2026, at Cross Road Retirement Community.
Born January 30, 1933, in Jonesville, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late James B. and Roxie M. McCurry Cope. She was the loving wife of the late Robert Kenneth Wilder, who died April 17, 2020.
Mabel retired from the Randolph County Public School system, serving as a dedicated cafeteria worker. She was a forty-plus years member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she and her late husband faithfully served the Lord and community. Mabel loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and exhibited a strong faith.
Mabel was known for baking the most delicious cakes, which were often requested by many friends and church family members. She served many of her neighbors in the Kynwood community, where she and Robert resided, by preparing meals, retrieving mail, and setting out and returning trash receptacles for those unable to do so for themselves. She was an example of the “hands and feet of Jesus”.
Mabel is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Linda Wilder of Richmond Hill, GA, and daughter-in-law, Cathy Wilder of New Smyrna Beach, FL. Also surviving are grandchildren Matthew Wilder (Tracy), Jason Wilder, Stephanie Bugg (Brian), and Melissa Price (Sam), and 5 great-grandchildren. Mabel is further survived by sister, Christine Wolfenbarger of Talbott, TN, and brother, Carlos Cope of Horsham, PA.
In addition to her husband, Mabel was predeceased by son, Marvin Wilder, and granddaughter and husband, Kathy Lynn and Matthew Ash.
A private graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 25th 2026, at Floral Garden Park, High Point, North Carolina.
