Richard A. Baptista Jr., 64, of Gloucester, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at his home. Born in Gloucester, he was the son of the late Richard and Catherine (Genovese) Baptista.
Rick was a graduate of Gloucester High School, class of 1977. After graduating, he served for three years in the Army, worked for the United States Post Office in Amesbury, at Hogan Regional Center in Danvers and in his later years, was employed by Market Basket in both Salem and Gloucester, as well as Stop & Shop in Gloucester.
Rick is survived by his sister, Mary Cross, his nephew, Phillip Cross and niece, Catherine Cross, all of Beverly, as well as many close aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents.
The funeral Mass for Rick will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish in Saint Ann Church, 74 Pleasant Street, Gloucester on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 11a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Richard's name to The Salvation Army.
