Richard D. Barton, age 90 of Cambridge passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at Astoria Place in Cambridge. He was born on September 30, 1932 in Everett, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Barton served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He worked and retired as a trooper for the Ohio State Highway Patrol. After retirement, he worked security at BankOne in Cambridge and had also worked at Belmont Corrections Institute.
Richard was a member of the Guernsey Lodge #632 F&AM, the Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge, the Shrine, Aladdin Temple in Columbus and the Ohio Trooper Coalition.
Dick is preceded in death by: his mother Helen Grace (Heister) Barton and his step father Glenn Lloyd Barton.
Surviving are: his wife of 51 years, Cherel (Paisley) Barton; a daughter Vicky Ayotte, a son Richard Ayotte; a step-son Todd Bates; a sister Linda Kelsey; one granddaughter Carly and two great granddaughters.
In keeping with Dick's wishes, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 10:30 am at Solid Rock Wesleyan Church at 832 Sherman Avenue Cambridge with Ken Harper officiating. Dick's online guest book may be viewed and signed at www.bundy-lawfuneralhome.com.
