Richard Leon Becker, Sr., 83, of Pottstown, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Chestnut Knoll Boyertown. He was the husband of the late Barbara J. (Quick) Becker. Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Edward L. Becker, Sr. and Virginia (Shustal) Becker. Richard graduated from Mt. Penn High School, class of 1960. He was the President of ThomComp Inc., for 39 years before retiring. Richard enjoyed skiing, scuba diving, golf, and billiards.
Richard is survived by his children; Richard L. Becker, Jr., husband of Debbie, Jeffrey Becker, husband of Debbie, Eric Becker, husband of Kim, Laura Fairbrother, wife of Stephen, and Kimberly Costanzo, wife of Ray. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Stephanie and Bethany Adams, Amy and Matthew Pavlik, Rick and Brennan Becker, III, Zachary Becker, Sean Becker, Scott and Natalie Speese, Christopher Speese and Jessie Macarthur, Jason Speese, Sr and Kristin Ploshay, Katelyn Costanzo, and Josephine Costanzo, as well as his great-grandchildren; Jason Speese, Jr, Owen Speese, Noelle Ploshay, Briana Speese, Jordyn Speese, Everly Speese, Luca Speese, Harrison Otto, Alex Otto, Kevin Otto, Jillian Dieterich, Harper Adams, Cara Pavlik, Lauren Pavlik, MaKayla Becker, Bryn Becker, and his brother Ed Becker. Richard was preceded in death by his brother Tom Becker and his granddaughter Amber Becker.
Visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am at Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA 19606. Interment will follow at Forest HIlls Memorial Park, 390 W Neversink Road, Reading, PA 19606. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Animal Rescue League, 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508. Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., has been entrusted with arrangements.
