Richard “R.D.” Dewey Beeson, a resident of Denham Springs, LA, passed away on August 14, 2025, at the age of 68, after a battle with cancer.
Born on August 5, 1957, R.D. was gifted with the kind of charm that could talk a fish into jumping in the boat or a deer into standing still. He spent his life in the great outdoors, where he loved to hunt and fish with his family that loved him dearly. He was a master welder and worked for over 30 years at BASF. He was a member of the Ironworkers Local 623.
Known for his big personality, his love for his family, dancing, and bluegrass music, R.D. is survived by his wife of 45 years, Judy Beeson; six children, Staci Rozas (Dave), Nikki Jones (Josh), Ryan Beeson (Danielle), Ashlie Reulet (Cody), Adam Beeson (Brittany), and Jacob Beeson; stepsiblings, Ricky Centineo (Lynn) and Bridgett Leger (Todd). He was a proud Paw Paw to 12 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Joseph and Lela Centineo and stepbrother, Doug Centineo.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA 70816, from 9:30 am until funeral service at 11:00 am, conducted by Pastor Timmy Straight. Burial at Resthaven will follow. Pallbearers will be Dave Rozas, Josh Jones, Cody Reulet, Darrell Bryant, Hector Azuara, and Deven Azuara. Honorary pallbearers will be his 7 grandsons.
The family kindly asks that guests dress casually and/or wear your favorite camo for R.D.
