Richard Allan Belinc, born on March 28, 1957, in Wyandotte, Michigan, was an affectionate, dedicated and hardworking individual who always put the needs of others ahead of his own. Richard, a maestro of machinery, spent over 30 years fine-tuning the world at Monsanto and Solutia as an Operator and then as a Maintenance Mechanic before joining BASF Wyandotte. His co-workers often marveled at his dedication, frequently dubbing him the hardest working person they knew-a title Richard wore with a humble grin and a knowing twinkle in his eye.
When he wasn't keeping the industrial world humming, Richard could be found fishing with his daughter and beloved nephews and nieces, creating welding wonders at home or for friends, devising ingenious heating and water solutions that defied logic and plumbing codes alike. When he wasn't crafting mechanical marvels or casting lines, you could find him lavishing affection on his beloved dogs or knocking down pins at the bowling alley. Before moving to Carleton, Richard was well-known in Wyandotte as the "Worm Man of Wyandotte," for catching nightcrawlers for his mother, Vera, who had a passion for fishing herself.
Richard has now joined his parents Martin and Vera Belinc and his brothers Joe Belinc and Bill Belinc in that great workshop in the sky, leaving behind his wife Rhonda, his daughter Grace (Dylan Danhoff). His siblings Marty (Joanne) Belinc, John Belinc, Bob (Diane) Belinc, Mary Jo (Robert) Dial, Becky (Dennis) Massengill, Ron Belinc, and Paul (Lucy) Belinc along with numerous brothers and sisters in laws will no doubt keep his memory alive, nieces and nephews he adored and who will surely miss their favorite fishing buddy and innovative uncle.
Richard may have left this world, but his spirit, humor, and tireless energy will continue to inspire all who knew him.
