Sarah Joann Belinc, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on September 30, 2025, in Pope, MS, at the age of 85. Born on April 8, 1940, in Pontotoc, MS, Joann lived a life marked by hard work, kindness, and love.
Funeral services for Joann will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, October 4th, 2025 at Wells Funeral Home in Batesville, MS. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00. Interment will follow the service at Forrest Memorial Park.
She dedicated her professional life as a shipping and receiving clerk, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to her job. However, it was within her family that she found her greatest joy and fulfillment. Joann was proud of raising her two sons, Martin and Brian Belinc, and instilled in them values that have influenced their lives.
Joann was not only known for her strong work ethic but also for her creative spirit. She loved arts and crafts and had a particular passion for sewing, skillfully making clothes for her children in the 1970s. Her interests extended to family activities; in her younger years, Joann enjoyed camping trips and fishing outings with her loved ones, creating cherished memories that will linger in the hearts of those who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Martin F. Belinc, Jr., of Pope, MS, her sons; Martin Bowlen Belinc III of Sarah, MS and Brian Belinc (Kelly) of Murfreesboro, TN, and her grandchildren Austin Belinc of Cordova, TN., Tessa Belinc, and Ella Belinc, both of Murfreesboro, TN. Joann shared a close bond with her sisters, Edith Henderson of Keiser, AR., and Margaret Baker of Harrisburg, AR., and her brother, Bill Adam of Windmere, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Adams and Ottie Belk Adams, as well as her sisters, Marie Bowman, Verniece Halter, and Ima Morgan, and her brothers, Edward and Harold Adams.
She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
