He is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Flora Benns; and his brother James C. Benns.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 56 years the former Susan Stricker; his sons Richard E. Benns II, Dr. Matthew Benns (Dr. Tiffany Justice), and Alexander J. Benns; grandchildren Sebastian, Eleanor, and Madison Benns; and his brother Edward J. Benns (Lynne).
Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Ratterman and Sons Funeral Home Jeffersontown 10600 Taylorsville Rd. His Funeral Mass will be 10 am on Monday, February 17, 2025 at St. Michael Catholic Church 3705 Stone Lakes Dr. with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Tunnel to Tower.
