Richard Fredrick "Rick" Bilger

Richard "Rick" Fredrick Bilger, age 70, of Elizabeth City, NC, died at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. Rick was born in Philadelphia, PA on July 28, 1954, to the late Charles Bilger and Helen Jane (Haus) Bilger. He was the husband of 48 years to Linda Kaye Woolridge Bilger. Rick served his country honorably in the U. S. Navy and after active-duty service, worked as a welder and pipefitter in construction. He attended Faith Baptist Church. Rick loved to travel, liked to dance, enjoyed listening to oldies music, and watching westerns.
Rick is survived by his wife, Linda; a daughter, Melissa Bilger; a son, Richard Bilger II; a brother, Charles "Buck" Bilger; six grandchildren, Richard Sauls, Emily Moore, Jolena Murphy, Layla Bilger, Richard Bilger III, and Zenith Bilger; and two great-grandchildren, Raelynn Wilson and Cincere Wilson. He was predeceased by his parents and his grandson, Kaleb Bilger.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Twiford Memorial Chapel with Pastor Bryan Pease officiating. Rick's service will be live streamed on his obituary page at www.TwifordFH.com.
