Richard E. Bilyeu, Beloved husband of C. Kaye, a loving wife of 66 years. Richard was preceded in death by his caring parents, his mother, Margaret Mary Finch and his father, Lloyd E. Bilyeu. He was the loving and proud father of four children, Richard “Rick”, Sheila Koziatek, Mitchell “Mick”, and Dianna Manning. Richard was the adored grandpa of 10 extra special grandchildren and the loving “Papa Rich” of 22 beautiful great-grandchildren, including one great-great- grandson. He is the dear brother of the late Donna Holmquist, Beverly Miller Ward, and Charlene Peavler. Richard is also the cherished brother in-law “Big Bro” of Stephen R. hardy and uncle to Drew and Miranda Hardy.
Richard was a proud Veteran of the United States Coast Guard. He was the president of the Lion’s Club, Khoury League of Missouri where he was a coach, and a member of Missouri Baptist Hospital baseball team. He was also a former member of St. Mary’s Trenton, IL and Sacred Heart in Florissant, MO. In his free time, Richard loved fishing, golfing, skydiving, and especially spending time with his large family. He also enjoyed cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs and other teams. Richard dedicated over 25 years with the Painters and Wallpaper hangers Local #2341 of Missouri and another 18 years with the construction services at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Creve Coeur, Missouri. Richard was a special friend to many and a very caring, loving, and fun husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather “PaPa” that will be dearly missed as a blessing to all who knew him.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the Phoenix Hospice, Progress West Hospital and Barnes St. Peters. We were blessed to be able to care for Rich at home until his death.
Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or Parkinson’s Disease Organization or American Cancer Society.
