Richard Lester Blevins passed away on July 23, 2025, in the presence of his daughter, Pamela Gordon and her husband, Dusty Gordon. He was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on July 31, 1962, to William Thompkins and Mary Thompkins Anderson. Richard was a kind and very caring person. He always had a soft spot for his grandchildren and his only great grandson. He adored his mother and would speak with her daily as she lives in NY and they couldn't be together as much as they would have liked. He spent the last almost two years residing in Milam, which he loved. He was always devoted to his family and would give you the shirt off his back if he knew you were trying and never expected it back. Thats just who he was. So, as we lay him to rest today, remember the good times, the happy times and remember that he is no longer suffering and he is finally having the reunion he has longed for with his father and siblings. Richard is proceeded in death by his father Bill Tompkins; brother, Albert Tompkins; and sisters, Angela Rapuano and Marie Blevins. He is survived by his mother, Maryann Tompkins; sisters, Sherry Valyou and her husband, Donny, Mary Allen and husband, Kevin, and Michelle Ostavitz and husband, Joe. He is also survived by his children, Pamela Gordon and husband, Dusty, AJ Blevins and wife, Charla, Renee Blevins and wife, Tammy, Brandy Blevins, Shane Blevins and wife, Shelly, Ricky Blevins and Chris Blevins; numerous grandchildren; one great grandson and soon to come great granddaughter as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2025, in New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Bro. George Ross officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Dusty Gordon, AJ Blevins, Dustin Gordon, Tristin Gordon, Jeffrey Snowden, and Nathan Snowden We love you Daddy so very much. Rest easy. We got it from here.
