Richard James Boumil, 57, passed away on May 17, 2025, in Boston, Massachusetts. Born on September 20, 1967, in Lowell, Massachusetts, Richard lived a life marked by deep devotion to his family, a strong sense of humor, and an unwavering commitment to doing what was right.
A proud graduate of Northeastern University in Boston, Richard earned his bachelors degree in accounting with high honors. He was named to the Deans List and graduated summa cum laudean achievement that reflected his meticulous nature and dedication to excellence.
Richards greatest joy came from being surrounded by those he loved. He was a devoted son to his mother, Carolann Boumil, who cherished the joy and love he brought into her life. He was also a beloved brother to James, Christopher, and Lori. His bond with his brother Chris was especially closethey shared many memorable trips to the White Mountains with their children and grandchildren.
As a father, Richard was generous with his time and wisdom. No matter the distance or circumstance, he remained a constant presence for his four children: Derrick, Kendra, Erica, and Cassandra. His love extended even further as Papa to five adoring grandchildrenAlexis, Jameson, Isayah, Savannah, and Eliyaswho saw him as invincible and always ready to lend a helping hand or share a laugh.
Richards home was often the heart of family gatherings. He loved hosting cookouts in his backyard where laughter flowed freely, and memories were made. Whether it was organizing outdoor adventures with his children and grandchildren or simply enjoying time together under the open sky, Richard found happiness in togetherness.
He had a passion for umpiring baseball gamesa hobby that combined his love for sports with his keen eye for detail. He also enjoyed collecting quarters, sports jerseys, and baseballstokens of the things he held dear. Known for his signature phrases like very good and groovy, Richard brought lightness wherever he went. His sense of humor shone through in the dad jokes he told so effortlessly.
Those who knew Richard will remember him as kind-hearted and strong-willeda man who could be counted on no matter what. He had an innate ability to make others feel at home in his presence; he was a steady anchor for those around him.
Richard is deeply mourned by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends whose lives were touched by his warmth and generosity. He now joins in rest his father James Boumil; grandson Jayce; and niece Kaitie.
May Richards memory bring comfort to all who knew himand may we carry forward the joy he gave so freely during his time among us.
