Richard Raymond Bro, 74, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away peacefully in his sleep in the comfort of his home on August 10, 2024. Richard was born on August 26, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois to Raymond and Margaret Bro.
Rich graduated high school in 1967 from North Park Academy in Chicago, playing basketball and running track on his school’s teams. He went on to attend Franklin College in Indiana where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in physical education as part of the Class of 1971. Being a charismatic salesman was his livelihood before retirement. Rich always enjoyed working out, spending time out on the golf course and watching sports. He also spent time keeping up with current events, driving around places near and far, and joking around. Most of all, he treasured spending quality time with his family, thriving on being a spectacular husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and “Silly Papa.”
He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Raymond Bro, mother, Margaret Bro, and his infant son, Matthew Ryan Bro.
Richard is survived by his wife of 48 years, Diane Bro; daughter, Melanie Davidson (Jeffrey); granddaughters, Chelsea Davidson and Courtney Davidson; sister, Karen Stopps (Malcolm); brothers, Kenneth “Ken” Bro (Barbara), and William “Bill” Bro.
A private family interment will take place at Cave Hill Cemetery. A memorial celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date. Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, are entrusted with his arrangements.
