John Wilhelms a remarkable and beloved individual passed away on March 6, 2026, at the age of 56. Born on August 10, 1969, John touched the lives of many during his time on this earth, leaving behind a legacy characterized by kindness, warmth, and friendship.
A proud graduate of Central High School in 1987, John was known for his infectious personality. He had an innate ability to make friends wherever he went, never meeting a stranger and always ready to share a hearty laugh. His love for all animals, regardless of their shape or size, reflected his compassionate spirit. John was the kind of person who could brighten the darkest days with his generous hugs and captivating stories, which often enchanted those fortunate enough to listen.
In his spare time, John found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He cherished dining at any Chinese buffet and was a frequent visitor to Golden Corral, where he enjoyed good food and even better company. His enthusiasm for life's little joys brought people together and created lasting memories.
John is survived by his loving mother, Linda Jeanne Wilhelms, and his siblings, brother Donnie Bennett and sister Mendy Downs. He also leaves behind his cherished niece and nephew, Blair and Bryan Howe, along with a host of extended family and friends who will remember him fondly for his unwavering kindness and friendship.
As we reflect on John's life, we celebrate a man who truly made the world a better place through his genuine spirit, love for others, and zest for life. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Per John's wishes cremation was chosen and a celebration of life will be held privately at a later date.
The family requests that contributions in John’s memory be made to Hip Hop Cares.
