Richard Lee Brucker passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025, in Somis, California, from complications of pneumonia. Born on May 8, 1942, Richard lived a life rooted in family, agriculture, and community.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Virginia Brucker, and his brother, Robert. He attended Santa Clara School and Santa Clara High School before attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo as an Agricultural Business major.
On June 13, 1964, Richard married Sharon Crowe. Together they built a life centered around family and farming. Richard is survived by his beloved spouse, Sharon Brucker; children Debbie Brucker and David Brucker with his spouse Deborah; grandchildren Melissa Brucker, Matt Brucker with his spouse Sophia, Lauren Brucker, and Sean Brucker; and great-grandchildren Emma Langvad, Mason Brucker, and Ryan Grace Brucker.
Richard farmed alongside his father on the Oxnard plain for ten years before becoming a partner at JoPoCo. During this same time, he lived on a ranch in Santa Paula where he raised avocados and lemons. JoPoCo merged with Cal Ag and Pacific Pest to create AgRx, where he finished out his working years and retired in 2002 to enjoy family, golfing and gardening.
In the final two years of his life, Richard was cared for by compassionate and devoted caregivers who brought comfort during that time.
A graveside service will be held at Conejo Mountain Cemetery on June 24 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception at Las Posas Country Club.
Richard's legacy lives on through the generations of family he nurtured and the land he lovingly tended. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
