Richard Burchfield

Richard Burchfield, 59, of Amsterdam, passed away unexpectedly early Saturday morning December 13, 2025, from injuries sustained in a car accident.

Born on May 19, 1966, in Steubenville, Ohio, Richard was the beloved son of Richard Sr. and Nelda Baker Burchfield of Unionport.

For the past eight years, Richard was employed as a saw operator at Timet. He was an avid member of the Hopedale Sportsman's Club and the Abu Garcia Fishing Reel Collector's Club, showcasing his passion for fishing and the outdoors. When he wasn't working, Richard cherished spending quality time with his family.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Riley Burchfield; parents Richard Sr and Nelda Baker; his children, Pharan (Ben) Burchfield of Las Vegas, Nevada, Allen Burchfield of Las Vegas, Nevada, Alan (Danielle) Nitz of Amsterdam, Lexi (Dustin) Goodwin of Wintersville, Nolan Burchfield, and Sterling McGrew. He was also a proud grandfather to Wyatt, Sophia, Tanner, and Candace. Richard is further survived by his brother, Scott (Tammy) Burchfield of Unionport, and his nephew, Stone (Morgan) Burchfield of Steubenville.

A memorial visitation to honor Richard's life will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, from 1 PM to 4 PM at Dodds Funeral Home in Amsterdam. Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate the life of a remarkable man.
