Richard Allen Cassell, affectionately known as Rick by his loved ones, passed away suddenly and peacefully at home on March 26, 2026 at the age of 73 in Uniontown, Ohio.

Born on June 25, 1952 in Akron, Ohio, Rick was a man whose life was dedicated in love, care, and concern for others.

Rick was a graduate of Central High School Class of ‘71. He retired from the rim plant, Maxion Wheels, which made Hummer wheels for The United States Army and semi-trailer wheels. He was an avid sportsman and fisherman, and he trained up future generations of anglers as beloved Dad and Grandpa.

Rick joins in eternity his father and mother, Ralph and Viola, and his sister, Betty.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving spouse of 53 years, Margaret, his cherished children Jennifer Derry and Rick Cassell, and his sisters Patricia (Ken) Kendall and Karen (Lance) Speas. Also sharing in the loss are his grandchildren Dylan Derry, Zachary Derry, Lily Derry, Benjamin Derry, Olivia Cassell, Hunter Cassell and Madison Cassell, as well as his great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Rick's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those blessed to have known and loved him. He leaves a legacy of kindness and service to others that will be cherished by family and friends alike. Rick will be missed and lovingly remembered.

Cremation has taken place. A private memorial service for close friends and family will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Red Cross.
