Richard A. Chandronnet, 80, of Warwick, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 19, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was the devoted husband of the late Lenore P. Chandronnet, with whom he shared a loving marriage since 1978.
Born in Warwick, Richard was the son of the late Raoul and Alice (Healey) Chandronnet. A hardworking and skilled mechanic, he was formerly employed at Pride Ford and the former Budlord's Gas Station in East Greenwich.
Richard lived a full and passionate life. An avid fisherman and enthusiastic model train collector, he also enjoyed working on cars, cooking, and grilling for his loved ones. He was a dedicated NASCAR fan and proudly held the title of "Neighborhood Mayor" as he made his daily walks around the block. A man of great generosity and heart, Richard was always the first to lend a hand-especially when it came to helping with home projects for his family.
He is survived by his three loving daughters, Lori "Cooper" Chandronnet and her wife Christie, Lenore Golden and Lilly Lemire; cherished grandchildren, Heather, Tommy and Timmy Lemire, Alexandria and Brittany Golden; one great-grandson, Jackson Blair; sister-in-law, Sharon Smith; niece, Wanda Smith; and many great & great-great nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Raoul "Ray" Chandronnet Jr. and Wilfred "Billy" Chandronnet.
Relatives and friends are invited to join his Celebration of Life on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 5:00-7:00PM, in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave, Warwick. Flowers are welcome but in lieu of, donations in his honor may be made to the American Cancer Society online at: https://donate.cancer.org/.
