Rick was born July 28, 1946, in Phoenix, Arizona the son of Henry and Jean Danini Chapman.

He passed away at 6:43 PM Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Univeristy of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.

He married Dana Felker on January 8, 1972, in Tolleson, Arizona and she survives.

Through this union his legacy continues with three children; Dennise Britt of Camp Point IL., Richard (Melissa) Chapman of Kirksville Mo., and Missy (Kelly) Davis of Clayton IL., five grandchildren; Kayla (Austin) Bruns of Clayton IL., Carly (Taylor) Herzog of Quincy IL., Kimberly Gooding (Collin Phelps) of Quincy IL., Olivia Chapman and Julia Chapman of Kirksville Mo., along with 7 great grandchildren, one sister Carol Stewart-Chapman of Tolleson, AZ, two nieces; Kathy Stewart of Tolleson, AZ and Tammy (Mikey) DeLong of Phoenix, AZ, one nephew; Michael Stewart of Phoenix, AZ, along with several great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: James Chapman and one nephew Danny Stewart.

Rick served his country honorably in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1971 and would come home to serve his community in many ways with his strong passion for anything he touched. He volunteered for the Camp Point fire department from 2001 to 2015, he was the treasurer for the local chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, and event chairman of the Fall Color Run for the Early Tin Dusters car club. He planned many things including his High School reunions to be able to continue the long-standing friendships of his classmates. The Early Tin Dusters and the Color Run was a year-round passion of street rods and the camaraderie that it brought with it. Rick was the driving force behind the Color Run, and it will be hard to fill his shoes. The most important thing to him was his family and upholding his family traditions whether that was being the constant voice at athletic events or just spending time with his family. There was no doubt they were his pride and joy. Later in life, he enjoyed researching his genealogy and meeting the relatives he had found. Rick loved his family, friends, and community and gave his all to those around him.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Great River Honor Flight, or the Kirksville R-3 School District for SkillsUSA training in care of Bienhoff Funeral Home PO Box 427 Perry, MO 63462
