Richard Chapman, 77, of Mt. Vernon, IN and formerly of Evansville, passed away on October 5, 2025

Richard was born in Henderson, KY on August 2, 1948 to the late Johnnie H. (Qualls) Chapman and Harry W. Chapman. He served in the Vietnam war from 1968-1969. He also worked at Alcoa in the maintenance department, retiring in 2006 after many years of service as a supervisor. Richard enjoyed woodworking and working on cars in his spare time.

Richard is survived by his aunt; Marilyn Qualls; his uncle, William Qualls; and his many dear friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Johnnie W. Chapman.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 E. Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711, with Father Ted Tempel officiating. Private burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery

Friends may visit from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at Browning Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256
