Richard Clark Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by The Kennedy Mortuary & Crematory - Laurens on Jan. 28, 2026.
Richard Lynn Clark, 80, of Laurens, and husband of Annett Marie Hock Clark, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Hospice of Laurens County.

Richard was born on October 11, 1945, to the late Seymour Richard and Lucille Rosendale Clark. In 1966 he met the love of his life at the Roxbury Inn, and he and Annett were married in Wolcott, NY in 1968. Richard joined the United States Air Force in 1967, was a Vietnam Veteran, and served several tours including Thailand, Guam and England. After his military service, he worked at the Greece Central School District in Rochester, NY, before retiring in 2010. Upon retirement, he and Annett moved to Florida to the Sun Sport Resort. Always a hippie at heart, Richard loved his rock and roll music, long hair, tattoos and piercings. Two of his favorite hobbies were fishing and playing darts, and he formed a team to play in a local dart league. He also had a love for animals, especially his "kitties" who he loved to snuggle with on the couch. His favorite food was pizza with "everything on it but the little fishies," which he frequently paired with a good beer. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and "fun loving" spirit.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Theresa Clark Wunsch (Jim) and Angela Clark Hill (William); four grandchildren, Elizabeth Wunsch, Annika Wunsch, Conner Ludwig, and Marissa Ludwig; and a sister, Gayle Smith.

There are no services planned at this time.

Memorials may be made in Richard's memory to The Laurens County Humane Society, 793 Poplar Street, Clinton, SC, 29325 or The Laurens County Baptist Association Food Pantry, 30 Ranch Road, Laurens, SC, 29360.
