Richard Leon Craig, 79, went home to be with his savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, with dear friends around him. He was born May 15, 1946, in Boswell, IN, the son of William "Mack" and Olive Mae "Bridget" (Perrin) Craig. They preceded him in death.

He was also preceded in death by his two sisters, Sharon K. Reynolds and Vicki J. Lackey; and brother-in-law, Richard "Dick" Reynolds.

He is survived by five nieces and nephews, Timothy (Susan) Reynolds, William "Bill" Reynolds, Stephanie (Bob) Herman, Brenda (Pedro Jr.) Zarate, and Travis Lackey.

Richard graduated from Rossville High School and worked at GE in Danville, IL, before they closed. He then returned home and farmed with his father in Rossville.

He became a member of the Rock Church in Danville and often traveled to local churches to sing.

His love of horses inspired him to move south near Shawnee National Forest to ride with friends and neighbors.

He often took his visitors to see the Garden of the Gods. He enjoyed staying in touch and sharing stories with cousins and friends on social media. Richard also enjoyed sewing and making blankets for loved ones.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and a memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Antioch Church of Christ, 37604B N 1900 E Rd, Rossville, IL, with Pastor Dan Mikel officiating. Burial will follow in Boswell Cemetery in Boswell, IN.

Memorial donations may be made to Richard's family C/O Anderson Funeral Home.
