I walked into Gordon deans car dealership to pay a bill. And This Robust outspoken man (Dick Crumrine) said, hey did i overhear you paint houses. Dick said well if your not any good im not paying you.
The day i entered his house to paint a bathroom, was the day we became like family.

My husband Ed Cash who was deceased on Oct 14,2019 was Dicks best man n a dear neighbor to us in Granger, In for many years. We kept in touch n he did come back to Indiana when Ed passed to visit with us. He helped with finishing two of our basements. When he worked for Montgomery Wards, we got our first microwave from him as well as a yellow refrigerator that was reconditioned. He was always on the lookout for good deals for us. We had many parties at our house which he came to n drank scotch on the rocks. He called me a couple months ago n we talked about the good old times. I tried to call on Feb 25th but he must have had some problems besides his dialysis 3 times a week. So sorry Travis n Brent. You both have my condolences. Cheryl Cash.

Dick was my dearest friend, he also was more of a father figure.
I loved that man, his wisdom on every topic was amazing. He was also compassionate. I feel so lost, i used to help look after him, along with his other dear angels, Mary, Dana, Karen, John.
But i became ill with M.D. then Covid started. So i couldn't get out to see him. I feared i could get him sick or get sick with covid. I talked to him every week often more. He loved the color
Red, one of his all time favorite songs, was ooby dooby.Roy Orbison. He loved all types of food, but really loved calamari, oysters, steak, blood rare and he certainly was one of the best cooks I've seen in a long time. He would often cook a turkey for himself and me, every thanksgiving or Christmas. (That was only When he wasn't having dinner at a friends) IT WAS PERFECT, he loved dark meat, i the white. Dick loved his gadgets, always buying tools, he loved good quality sound. And was the happiest ive ever heard him when he bought rare polk speakers. That was just a small bit of information on my dear friend..i know he loved his 2 boys, Who live out of state. He would often tell me how well they were doing and how pleased he was with them. Dick is survived by his kids, but he is also survived in way by his family of closed friends. Mary g. Who knew Dick and his parents along long time. She was his joy, oh how he loved mary G. She always checked on Dick. Then, there is John Dicks neighbor across the street. Who would come and have coffee with Dick.
There's Gordon Dean, who had a long long friendship with Dick, going to school with him. Hiring Dick to work at his dealership, (where i met Dick at) theres Dana, who knew Dick along time also, who would take care of all the yard work. Who would stop by and have a beer and enjoy Dicks wisdom and company. It was Dana who showed such compassion towards Dick in his last 2 yrs. He would stop a few times a week to check on Dick.
There's Karen, his neighbor, who brought Dick holiday meals, or other items, who would see to removing the snow from Dicks driveway. I am sure there's even more people..But we all Loved Dick Crumrine, we were his extended family of friends. I will miss my Dear Friend...I will always remember every time i called, Dick would start singing a song he made up for me 15 yrs ago. He called me BOBBERT.
"HE'D SING, BE BOP A BOBBERT YOUR SO CRAZY, BE BOP A BOBBERT HE'S NOT LAZY, BE BOP A BOBBERT, HE'S MY SPECIAL GUY. I called him DICKARD...HE TAUGHT ME TO TREASURE THE MOMENTS EACH DAY, BECAUSE WHEN THEY ARE GONE, YOU CAN'T GET THEM BACK, YOU CAN'T UNDO THEM, YOU CANT APOLOGIZE, OR SEEK TO IMPROVE..EACH DAY IS MEANT TO BE HELD TO THE HIGHEST, BEING GRATEFUL.
YOU TAUGHT ME SO MUCH MY FRIEND.. I WILL MISS YOU DEARLY..I LOVE YOU,,, SAIL ON OH CAPTAIN MY CAPTAIN.
