It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Curt, who passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 14, at the age of 68. Curt was born on January 1, 1956 in Salt Lake City, UT to Richard and Sheryl White Bohn. In his youth he lived in Salt Lake City, UT; Hayward, CA; Logan, UT finally settling in Centerville, UT. Curt graduated from Viewmont High School where he met and later married his eternal companion, Marcia Moosman on April 8, 1977 in the Salt Lake Temple. He graduated with a BA in Business from Weber State University.

Curt and Marcia made their home in North Salt Lake, UT where they welcomed and raised two children, Brandon (Jamie) and Marisa (Tim) Olson who then blessed them with our most treasured gifts; his grandchildren: Berlin, Annie, Ezra, Cate, Nixon and, Lilah (his forever biker chick). They later moved to Layton, Utah

Curt served active duty in the US Army stationed at Ft. Richardson, Alaska and later in the 328th General Hospital Army Reserve Unit, Ft. Douglas, UT obtaining the rank of First Sergeant until his retirement in 2001. He was a Gulf War veteran. He began his professional career in 1980 working at Varian X-ray Tube Products as an Industrial Furnace Engineer, retiring in 2013.

Although he left this life earlier than expected, Curt experienced a life of fulfillment and service to others. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints serving in many capacities including Primary worker, Assistant Scoutmaster, Executive Secretary to three amazing Bishops, Bountiful Temple Ordinance Worker, BYU Pathway instructor for Africa and 11 years as a Service Missionary for the Centerville Employment Resource Center where he helped to change the lives of many.

Curt had a thirst for knowledge and was continually trying his hand at many different things. We loved his sourdough bread, grilled/smoked meats, freeze dried foods, rides on his Harley and his quiet, gentle, steady and strong presence. We will really miss the wonderful trips he planned and loved to take us on. He was well traveled and visited many different countries.

He will also be remembered for his passion of anything having to do with firearms, he did all of his own reloading and was proud of becoming a gold and bronze medalist in the Rim and Centerfire competitions at the Huntsman World Senior Games.

He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and siblings Craig, Clark and Celeste as well as cherished aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters in law.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Please join us for a celebration of Curt’s life on Saturday, September 28, 2024at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N Fairfield Rd., Layton, UT from 4 to 6 p.m.
